Smarter Autoresponders During Active Sequences

Whippy AI now automatically suppresses out-of-office replies when a contact is already in a messaging sequence—keeping your outreach clean, consistent, and professional.
What’s New?
We’ve improved how Whippy handles working-hours autoresponders for contacts in active or pending automation sequences (like drips, nurture flows, or onboarding steps).
Now, if a contact is currently receiving or scheduled to receive a message from a sequence, Whippy will not send a working-hours auto-reply (like “We’ll get back to you soon”)—even if the message is sent outside of business hours.
Why This Matters
This smart update prevents confusing or redundant replies that could interrupt your carefully timed outreach.
You’ll benefit from:
Cleaner communication – Contacts receive only the messages that matter, without extra “I’m away” responses mid-sequence.
Improved engagement – No mixed signals = better open and reply rates.
Smarter automation – Your sequences maintain their intended flow and tone without manual adjustments.
Real-World Example
Imagine this:
You enroll a lead in a 5-day welcome sequence on a Friday afternoon. Normally, the message might trigger an “outside working hours” reply later that evening.
With this update, Whippy detects the active sequence and skips the auto-reply—ensuring your lead only sees the scheduled onboarding messages, not unrelated autoresponders.
⚡This logic is built directly into Whippy’s sequence engine—no settings to toggle, no extra configuration required.
